Batteries power our daily lives. There is a rapidly growing volume of batteries being sold. Some market predictions point to a 100X rise in installed battery capacity in coming years. As more and more e-bikes, e-scooters and e-devices are brought to market, there is also a growing volume of returned used lithium-ion battery packs.
Batteries are collected, but there is no ecosystem in place to disassemble, test and reuse them. In the Netherlands alone, 300 tons of eBike batteries are disposed of each year, a volume that is expected to rise 20% to 30% yearly.
But WATT IF… we can safely select, harvest, test and reuse battery cells? Refurb Battery uniquely uses collected battery cells in energy storage solutions that can be used to electrify building sites, support electric vehicle charging or help grid balancing and peak demand management. With every battery cell Refurb Battery repurposes, we save raw materials, waste and energy. How does this translate? With the reduced carbon footprint adds up to 5 milion rools of toilet paper spared each year.

WHAT REFURB BATTERY DOES
The next big step in energy management.
Refurb Battery analyses and reuses battery cells, lengthening their lifespan and reducing waste and raw materials. Our storage solutions are powered with a 100% green energy, can electrify remote places and help with peak demand and grid balancing.
Repurpose
eMobility battery packs are collected by non-profit organisation STIBAT. We deconstruct these battery packs and to their lithium-ion cells.
Better batteries
By thoroughly checking each cell on quality, we gather data and learn more about what works. This data is used to improve the production process to make batteries even better in their first life.
Smart storage
Refurbished batteries form our smart storage solution. Each of these 10ft containers delivers upwards of 300 kW and can electrify building sites, outdoor events or support electric vehicle charging.
Bright green
We strive to charge all of our smart storage solutions are with 100% wind- or solar power. Storing electricity directly where it's generated helps with peak demand management and balancing the grid.

Refurb Battery was founded by battery experts and hands-on investors, bringing the experience and skillset to run safe and compliant battery harvesting operations and to develop, build, own and operate energy storage solutions from these cells. From the start Refurb Battery has partnered with individual e-bike manufacturers as well as recycling service providers. These partners combine an understanding of batteries, sustainable product creation and full grasp of regulations and administration requirements.
